The City of Baytown developed a Hazard Mitigation Plan for the Baytown community through a grant from the Texas General Land Office, Local Hazard Mitigation Planning Program (LHMPP). The plan will address natural and human-caused hazards that affect the community. The goal of the plan is to minimize or eliminate the long-term and acute risk to human life and property from known hazards through effective mitigation.
The plan was developed with public input to help the project team analyze potential hazards affecting residents and recommended mitigation strategies and actions to reduce their impact. This webpage serves as transparency to the hazard mitigation planning process containing public notices, planning documents, surveys, and meeting information.
The City of Baytown Hazard Mitigation Plan 2025 Update was approved by FEMA and adopted by City Council in 2025.
