"In my 5 years working with the City of Baytown Police Department I quickly moved to a specialized assignment working on the Traffic Management Team. I also work as an adjunct instructor training new and experienced officers. I have gained numerous certifications and awards throughout my time with Baytown. One of the certifications is becoming a Drug Recognition Expert. Of the 80,000 peace officers in Texas, only about 400 of them hold this certification. It is said by many to be the hardest certification to obtain as a peace officer. In my time with Baytown, I have also received the Chief’s commendation award for my work removing intoxicated drivers from Baytown’s roadways. In addition to that award, I have received several awards/recognitions for that work from M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving)."
