The injury status of the female victim is currently stable, no other information is known at this time. Please note that the pictured vehicle was seen entering and leaving the apartment complex at the approximate time of the incident. We believe this vehicle is involved in this case. The vehicle looks to be a light colored, Ford Explorer SUV. We are looking for the public’s help in sharing the following information; any leads help us become one step closer to finding the individual who did this atrocious crime. This case is under investigation and no further information is available for release at this time.
Today, January 17, 2023 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Baytown Police Officers responded to a shots fired call in 1200 Block of Missouri Street. Officers arrived to discover two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. An adult male and adult female were inside the apartment when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots into the apartment. Officer began life-saving measures until medics arrived. The adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female was transported to the Emergency Department at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Special Investigations have been actively working this case since early this morning. The names of the victims will not be released until family has been notified. Chief of Police, John Stringer states: “Baytown Police are actively working this case. We will spare no investigative resource to identify the offender and bring them to justice. The City of Baytown is better than this and our citizens deserve to be safe in their homes. If anyone has any information on this or any other crime, call the Baytown Police Department. Get involved and become a force multiplier for your Baytown Police Department. If you see something, say something.”
