For his project, Abel looked at the process Parks crews follow when cleaning up during and after major City-sponsored events throughout the year. As he Defined, Measured, and used 5 Why’s to Analyze the situation, he noticed how much extra time (aka overtime 😊) it was taking crews to clean up after events. Additionally, he saw that most of the planning and preparation went into the set-up of the event, which left the clean up after to be “we just did what we always do.” What a great place to start looking ways to better utilize our staff and make this process more cost effective!
