Background

The applicant is requesting that the subject property be annexed into the City of Baytown.  A single-family residential development comprised of the subject property and an adjacent property, owned by the Pulte Group Houston, is the ultimate objective. Annexation of the approximately 19.86-acre property will allow the Pulte Group Houston to streamline the platting, rezoning, and development processes according to the standards administered by the City of Baytown.

Application is advertised

The annexation request is advertised in accordance with state and local requirements. This includes: mailing notices to entities who would be effected by the annexation, if approved; posting signs on the property, creating a project Newsflash on the City's website; and advertising it in the newspaper. 

Public Hearing

The City Council holds Public Hearings.  Anyone can sign up to speak at the Public Hearing.

Ordinance Reading & Action

City Council holds two readings of the proposed Annexation Ordinance and votes the final decision. This is the final step.
