City Council Preview for April 24
The City of Baytown is committed to making sure you are provided with accurate information regarding our council meetings. Here’s the latest City Council Preview, where we highlight several topics to be discussed at the meeting.
Recognitions
The meeting will begin recognizing the City of Baytown’s Municipal Clerks and Public Safety Telecommunicators.
Texas Enterprise Zone Program
Councilmembers will listen to discussions about re-establishing the City’s participation in the Texas Enterprise Zone Program. Nominated businesses for this program could apply for state sales and use tax refunds.
Ordinances
Several ordinances will be considered during the meeting, including one that would create a multimedia studio inside the Brunson building. The media center would be constructed using PEG funds that can only be used to enhance programming for the City’s Channel 16.
Appointments
Council will consider the appointment of an Associate Municipal Court Judges and also consider others to six different boards or commissions.
These are only a few of the topics being discussed during the meeting. To read the agenda, visit the public meetings page on baytown.org. As always, you are encouraged to be a part of the conversation. Council meetings take place in the council chambers at 6:30pm every second and fourth Thursday of the month.
