We are aware that mosquitos may become a problem after the amount of rainfall we experienced from Hurricane Beryl. Baytown Health department crews will begin spraying again this week as storm runoff subsides. Please note that our Lee Drive facility was affected by the storm, which may slightly impact our service. We are working diligently to resolve this and will keep everyone updated. Here are some things you can do to keep yourself and the community safe from mosquitos:
- Eliminate standing storm water
- Change water in birdbaths and pet bowls
- Wear DEET-based insect spray
- Wear long pants and lightweight long-sleeved shirts when outdoors
- Avoid outdoor activity at dawn and dusk
Residents can report mosquito problem areas in the Better Baytown app.
