storm recovery graphicThe City of Baytown has waived permit fees related to storm damage repairs. Permits are still required for the repairs, but you will not have to pay for them.

Here are the permits covered:

  • Building permits (commercial and residential)
  • Demolition permit
  • Electrical permits (commercial and residential)
  • Plumbing permits (residential and commercial)
  • Mechanical permits (residential)
  • Miscellaneous building permit
  • Inspection and plan review for building services related to storm damage

A new ordinance was adopted last month that would automatically waive the fees, after a local disaster declaration is signed by the mayor, for 30 days. That time started on Monday, but City Council can vote to extend that time period.
