We know it’s taking some time, but this process is likely going to take months to resolve due to the amount of debris left after Hurricane Beryl. All of City of Baytown’s assets, in addition to a contractor, are being used. In fact, the contractor estimates the amount of debris is more of what you would see from a Category 3 hurricane.

Please be patient as we work through our community. Remember, crews will be making multiple passes through each zone.

Here’s the latest storm debris collection information as of August 9:

THIS WEEK’S COLLECTION EFFORTS

Debris collection will be dedicated to zones 1, 3 and 4, with an emphasis on:

Zone 1:

  • Bayou Vista Terrace
  • Singleton
  • Pinehurst

Zone 3:

  • Southwest
  • Brownwood
  • Lakewood

Zone 4:

  • Quail Hollow
  • Morrell Park
  • Allenbrook

TYPE OF DEBRIS

Vegetation is currently the focus of the debris collection.

TOTALS SO FAR

Since the debris collection process started, 1,415 loads of debris have been collected, totaling 64,594 cubic yards. These numbers will change every Monday.

Debris will be collected multiple times in each zone.

DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER OPEN

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) have established a Disaster Recovery Center at the Baytown Community Center. It is open Monday-Saturday from 8am-6pm.
