If your house was built before 1988, there is a chance your pipes could contain lead. The City is working on the service line inventory and needs your help. A service line is a pipe that moves water from the city into your home. Federal regulations have recently changed and the City of Baytown is committed to getting the lead out.
The City of Baytown does not have a history of lead pipes and has investigated more than 38,000 service lines without finding lead.
You can help through a simple self-survey that will make the process quicker and easier. The information in the graphic explains how to survey your lines, how to submit a report, and the next steps to follow. For more information, visit baytown.org/1392.
