Grito Fest Lineup Announced
The City of Baytown is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with two days of free family entertainment. Grito Fest will take place on October 4 at Baytown’s Town Square and October 5 at Bicentennial Park. There will also be an accordion, jalepeño and grito shout contest. It's definitely an event you don't want to miss.
Friday, October 4 (Town Square)

Who doesn't love some friendly competition?! Here's an opportunity to show off your talent! Join in on the Grito Fest competitions. There is no cost to participate.
On-site Competitions
- Play the accordion? Show off your skills and sign up for the accordion competition!
- Is your grito a show stopper? Show Baytown what you're made of and sign up for the Grito Competition!
- Do you have what it takes to eat the most jalapeños in the fastest time? Show the world your talent!
Sign up on-site on October 5 to participate in the accordion, grito shout, and jalapeño competitions to be held during the event.
Pre-judging Competitions
Think your salsa is the best? Bring the flavor and sign up for the Green and Red Salsa Competition. Salsa judging takes place on October 1 and the winners are presented awards on-stage during the October 5 event.
Categories include Restaurant Green Salsa, Restaurant Red Salsa, Homemade Green Salsa, and Homemade Red Salsa.

- Free public parking will be available at Lee College while those needing access to handicap parking will be accommodated at the Lee College Performing Arts Center.
