Brandon CapetilloThe City of Baytown would like to thank former Baytown Mayor Brandon Capetillo for his dedication and service to the community for the last 20 years.

Mr. Capetillo served four terms on city council from 2005-2017. During this time, he served as Mayor Pro-Tem and was a member of the Baytown Municipal Development District, Industrial District, as well as several other boards and commissions. He was elected mayor in 2018 and has been instrumental in the discussions of numerous projects.

Below is a message from Mr. Capetillo:

“It has been my distinct honor to serve as mayor of Baytown, my hometown and birthplace, for the past six years. Together with the council and administration, we have worked diligently to progress our city, ensuring it remains financially sustainable while embracing a bright future. Many exciting projects are set to come to fruition, including the San Jacinto Marketplace and Project Vector.

I am particularly proud of the strides we have made, such as reducing the tax rate for our citizens, increasing the homestead exemption for seniors 65 and older, and making Baytown a better place to live for all. These accomplishments reflect our shared commitment to the community and its future.

As I look toward the future, I remain deeply committed to serving our community in whatever capacity I can, continuing to support Baytown and its residents in meaningful ways. However, I also recognize the importance of taking some time for myself after these fulfilling, yet demanding years of mayoral service. In the coming months, I plan to focus on personal growth and pursue a few endeavors that I’ve long wanted to explore, but was unable to due to the commitments of council and mayoral duties. This time will allow me to recharge, reflect, and prepare for the next chapter of my life journey, while always keeping the well-being of our community close to my heart.

I wish the best to Mayor Charles Johnson and council.”
