Baytown hosted more than 12 nearby cities and over 500 Parks and Recreation Professionals for the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) East Region’s Maintenance Rodeo. 29 teams competed in competitions that are related to the daily tasks of crews, including irrigation repairs, pulling trailers, and operating different types of equipment.

The Baytown Parks and Recreation Department placed in several categories and will representing our community in the state competitions:

Overall: City of Baytown, 2^nd place

Nail Driving: City of Baytown, 1^st place

Truck and Trailer: City of Baytown, 2^nd place

Backhoe Competition: City of Baytown, 3^rd and 4^th place

Backpack Blower: City of Baytown 5^th place
