[ARCHIVED] National Engineers Week

Web Stories Graphics

Engineers are vital in making sure our quality of life in Baytown improves every day while keeping track of important infrastructure projects.

Mayor Brandon Capetillo presented a proclamation at the last City Council meeting, designating February 19-25 National Engineers Week. Mayor Capetillo was joined by Frank Simoneaux, Director of Public Works and Engineering and the engineering team for Baytown.

National Engineers Week raises awareness and the positive contributions engineers make in communities across the country. Engineers are responsible for protecting our environment and ensuring public safety. On top of that, engineers play a pivotal role in helping our economy.

Engineers are recognized in February because of President George Washington. Not only is his birthday this month, but he was also an engineer.
