CenterPoint Energy will manage the electrical infrastructure (such as power lines) for your residence. You will not receive a separate bill from CenterPoint; however, in case of an outage, they will be your contact.
Gas service is provided by CenterPoint Energy. To arrange for service connection you can visit them online or call 713-659-2111.
The City of Baytown is serviced by the Goose Creek Consolidated School District. The district operates independently from the City of Baytown, guided by their own administration and funded by their own taxes.
Cable television, telephone and internet service for the Baytown Area is provided by Comcast Xfinity.
Trash and Recycling billing is handled by the City of Baytown, though service is provided under contract by Waste Management. Service begins automatically when new residents request water and sewer service. Water and Sewer service is handled by the City of Baytown.
The Baytown Fixed Route service is a project of Harris County Transit Services and is designed to bring public transit service to the city of Baytown. Harris County Transit Services currently provides the Baytown Fixed Route service, an elderly / disabled taxi program within the county and a park & ride service from Baytown to Downtown Houston. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversees state driver licenses and ID cards. New residents are permitted to drive with a valid, unexpired license for 90 days following a move. There is a DPS office located in Baytown at 5420 Decker Drive. They can be contacted by calling 281-424-3669 or by DPS email.
The Harris County Tax Office oversees vehicle registration and license plates. They can be reached at 713-274-8000 and are located inside the Justice of the Peace court at 701 W. Baker Road.
To vote in Texas, you must be registered at least 30 days prior to an election. As a resident of Harris County, you can find voter registration and election information through Harris County's voter website. Additional information is available at votetexas.gov.
